Sharecare Ghana is a non-profit organization set-up in 2007 in Ghana for persons with disabilities as well as their families and care-givers; with special focus on persons (including children) with autoimmune and neurological conditions.
Members have a wide spectrum of conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes Mellitus – Type I and Cerebral Palsy..
Sharecare Ghana was founded by Nana Yaa Agyeman, who has neuromyelitis optica (NMO), an autoimmune condition similar to Multiple Sclerosis. Her condition was only diagnosed seven years after the onset of symptoms and she decided to provide a forum for exchange of ideas and support for persons with similar conditions
To create awareness of, advocate for and support persons with autoimmune and neurological conditions, and promote research into these conditions.
Sharecare Ghana’s vision is of a society that factors in every person’s condition of health and/or disability and guarantees their human rights and dignity. Sharecare perceives its members from a viewpoint of total inclusion, under the laws of Ghana.
